About Us

'So simple, it's brilliant'

A drone note, boring displays, and a family who couldn't let that be...

My dad, Colin, has always been the one who can't just play the guitar like a legend—he has to take it apart like one too. He's had double necks, triple necks and every combination of pickup you could imagine.

Years ago Dad wanted to drone the G on a lower string while he played up the neck. No capo did that. So he made one that would—fretting just the strings he needed and leaving the rest ringing open. That was the first G-Band. He didn't build it to sell it. He built it because the sound he wanted didn't exist yet, and that annoyed him more than it should have.

The hanger came from me. We were exhibiting at Musikmesse, standing next to a wall of guitars all hanging by the neck on the same stiff, ordinary hooks, and I said something like "these all look terrible." Dad agreed, in the way he agrees with things he's already half-solved in his head. That conversation became the Invisible Guitar Hanger.

Two ideas, years apart, from two people who've never really been able to look at a guitar without wanting to improve something about how you live with it.

What connects them?

Different jobs, same instinct running through both of us: don't accept "that's just how it is" when it comes to your guitar.

The G-Band Partial Capo lets you fret only the strings you choose instead of clamping all six—drones, alternate tunings, voicings you can't get any other way, without retuning mid-set.

The Invisible Guitar Hanger holds a guitar securely at any angle, even on the ceiling, calibrated to that guitar's own strap pin spacing —no visible bracket, so the guitar looks like it's floating rather than propped up.

Still just us

There's no factory floor, no product team, no meeting where someone who doesn't play guitar signs off on a design. It's still Dad and me, testing things on our own guitars before they go anywhere near yours.

Every capo is spring steel and soft rubber, built to hold its tension without ever biting into your strings. Every hanger is injection-moulded polycarbonate, strong enough for an expensive guitar, minimal enough to disappear on the wall. Made in the UK, because that's the only way we can keep an eye on how it's actually built.

Why people trust it

We never chased endorsements. But when players like Jonny Greenwood and Lee Ranaldo ended up using our gear, it told us something: musicians are choosing 'unique'.

From someone hanging their first decent guitar, or trying to learn 'Ful Stop' with a G-Band 2, to legends touring and headlining Glastonbury: it means just as much to Dad and I. And we know that— that's why you get the same care, whoever's buying.
